Johannesburg - ArcelorMittal South Africa said it expected steel making operations at its Vanderbijlpark plant, which was hit by a fire, to resume in March.

The company declared a force majeure almost two weeks ago after the fire forced it to shut part of the steel-making facility.

It said good progress had been made to replace some of the lost production.
