Vodacom MD steps down

Johannesburg - Vodacom SA's managing director and chief operating officer of the Vodacom Group [JSE:VOD], Sipho Maseko, has resigned, the company said on Thursday.

"(He) has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests," it said in a statement.

Maseko would also step down from all his directorships of the group's companies, with immediate effect.

Maseko joined Vodacom in September last year.

"A further announcement will be made in due course," the company said.

    Not even a year as MD and COO? That doesn't seem right, I wonder what's caused this? Is he going to join Alan Knott-Craig at Cell C??!

    Probably got enough money for a nice vacation! Hopefully they appoint a new MD according to merit and not just skin color.
