Johannesburg - The SABC said on Wednesday that it was not aware of the resignation of Lulama Mokhobo,
group executive: public broadcasting services (PBS).
"I am unaware of such a resignation," Kaizer Kganyago, SABC spokesperson told Fin24.
He was responding on a query following reports in Drum and on social media that Mokhobo has resigned.
Drum reported earlier that the resignation is effective from June 30. It referenced Hannes du Buisson, the president of the Broadcasting, Electronic, Media and Allied Workers Union (Bemawu) as a source.
The magazine said it was not clear why Mokhobo, who was previously SABC group executive for public broadcasting services, took this step nearly 14 months into her position.
According to sister publication City Press a well-placed source at the SABC as well as a recent former senior staffer had told the publication that Mokhobo has tendered her resignation.
