Jakes Gerwel, chairperson of Media 24 as well as various companies and educational trusts, on Sunday underwent a successful three-way heart bypass operation at the Netcare Kuils River Hospital.
According to his wife Phoebe Gerwel, he is recovering well and will remain in the intensive care unit for the next few days.
