Cape Town - McGregor BFA, which is owned by Naspers [JSE:NPN], has finalised the acquisition of I-Net Bridge for a total of R113m.
The R112.7m plus is short of the R115m initial amount reported in a SENS report in August.
"McGregor BFA is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of I-Net Bridge from Times Media Group Limited [JSE:TMG]," it said in a statement on Friday.
It said the new entity will have a financial database covering African markets and companies that is unmatched.
McGregor BFA CEO Andrew Philbrick said the acquisition delivers a significant upside for the clients of both companies.
“McGregor BFA and I-Net Bridge have strong complementary financial data sets, and I-Net Bridge brings an established client base to McGregor BFA’s cutting edge technology platform."
He said there is tremendous support for the deal among the teams at I-Net Bridge and McGregor BFA.
"We provide each other with the next big step on our journey to build a globally significant African financial data company,” said Philbrick.
Naspers acquired a controlling stake in McGregor BFA in 1998.
