Paris - French telecoms equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent said on Tuesday its first-half losses had doubled this year as earnings were hit by restructuring charges and falling asset values.
But the price of its shares jumped by 9.0% in initial trading.
The company said it lost €885m ($1.17bn) in the six months to June, compared to a deficit of €396m for the same period in 2012.
First half revenues rose 1.9% to €3.6bn.
