Johannesburg – Ascendis Health [JSE:ASC] listed on the JSEs main board on Friday, becoming the 8th health sector company to list there.
Ascendis Health is a health and care brands company operating in plant, animal and human health, which makes an approximate annual turnover of R2bn.
As one part of its growth strategy Ascendis also has a strong focus on acquisitive growth, utilising the private equity deal team of its controlling shareholder Coast2Coast.
"We are very excited about the JSE offering us this opportunity to raise our public profile," said CEO of Ascendis Health, Karsten Wellner.
"The listing will give us access to new equity capital to fund our acquisitive and organic growth strategies, broaden our capital base as well as raise our accountability and profile internally and externally."
He said it is also important to create a track record and trust with investors, customers and employees.
"The JSE will also afford us the ability to internationalise this great company into a globally integrated health and care company," he said.
“This listing will provide both local and international investors with investment options in the sector,” said Zeona Jacobs, director of issuer and investor relations at the JSE."
