Johannesburg - Petro Dekker has been appointed chief operating officer of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC).
"As the new COO, Dekker will... be responsible for, among others, strategic management of corporate services, company secretariat, and stakeholder relations," the PIC said in a statement on Tuesday.
Dekker's appointment would take effect on April 1. She has been acting in the role for 10 months. She takes over from Albertina Kekana.
Dekker has held various positions in the PIC, including senior manager of investment administration and general manager of corporate services.
She holds a BCom (Hons) Business Management degree from the University of SA.
The PIC is the biggest fund manager in South Africa, with asset management in excess of R1 trillion.
