Cape Town – Cadiz Asset Management announced on Monday that experienced fund manager Shawn Stockigt has been appointment as CEO with effect from October 1 2015.
Stockigt has over 20 years’ experience in research, trading and portfolio management at fund managers including Stanlib, Sanlam Investment Management, Abvest Asset Management and Momentum Asset Management.
“We are pleased to have attracted a seasoned investment professional of Shawn’s calibre. He will be instrumental in driving the strategy to grow Cadiz into a leading asset management business. In the short term he will focus on strengthening the investment team," said Fraser Shaw, CEO of Cadiz Holdings.
Cadiz also announced the appointment of an experienced fixed income team following the purchase of South Easter Fund Management. The team comprises Alastair Sellick, Ruen Naidu and Candice Moses.
The new team will be incorporated into Cadiz’s existing fixed income team of Carron Howard, Michele van der Berg and Mpumelelo Kondlo.
Sellick has been appointed as head of fixed income and his responsibilities will include portfolio management of the Cadiz Bond and Flexible Income Funds. He has over 15 years fixed income fund management experience at institutions including Sanlam, Futuregrowth, Decillion, PSG Asset Management and South Easter Fund Management
Naidu and Sellick have worked as a team for over eight years in managing bond, flexible and money market mandates for institutional and retail clients.
