Johannesburg - A technical glitch at the overseas network managed by MTN Group [JSE:MTN] was responsible for the latest trading halt at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange , the bourse said on Tuesday.
The JSE Ltd [JSE:JSE] halted equity trade for more than 30 minutes on Tuesday, citing problems with its link to the London Stock Exchange, which is managed by MTN.
“MTN made an adjustment which enabled the equities market to reopen,” the bourse said.
A similar glitch last year halted trade on the exchange for more than six hours, leading MTN to blame multiple transmission failures on its network.
