Johannesburg - Coronation Fund Managers [JSE:CML] , SA's only listed asset management company, reported on Thursday that assets under management at the end of December 2010 totalled R224bn.
Coronation is also one of the largest third-party asset management companies in South Africa.
It boasted a 10.3% increase from September when assets under management were R203bn. The September figure was adjusted to R203bn from R198bn to reflect changes in the sub-management agreement between Coronation Fund Managers and Namibia Asset Management.
Coronation, which works in Southern Africa, the UK and Ireland, described 2010 as an "incredible" year.
"The recovery in the domestic markets created the perfect platform from which to demonstrate our skill," it said.
"2010 was an incredible year for the business, where the strength of our long-term investment philosophy produced strong returns across all client portfolios,"
A highlight was the exceptional growth of its retail business, it said.
