Johannesburg - Absa Group [JSE:ASA] advised on Monday that
discussions are still in progress which, if successfully concluded‚ may have a
material effect on the price of its shares.
In August and September Absa advised shareholders of the
potential combination of the majority of the Barclays Africa operations with
Absa.
Accordingly shareholders were advised to continue exercising
caution when dealing in their shares until a further announcement is made.
