Cape Town - Engen Petroleum says it has finalised its acquisition of Shell International's downstream business in Lesotho.

Its footprint in sub-Saharan Africa now extended to 17 countries outside South Africa, the company said on Monday.

The Lesotho operation involved annual volumes of 36 million litres of retail and commercial fuel and lubricants, giving it just under 21% of the market.
