Cape Town - MultiChoice has launched a trial website offering video content from selected local DStv channels, which can be streamed or downloaded to a Personal Computer.
MultiChoice said in a statement on Monday it tested the technical capabilities of the website over two months, using employees within the group companies.
It the second phase of the trial, launched on August 1 2007, MultiChoice used selected DStv premium customers to determine the user friendliness and content offering of the broadband site.
Local content that trialists found popular included sport highlights clips, local soapies as well as actuality program Carte Blanche.
MultiChoice said it is negotiating with the various studios to broaden the variety of the content offered on the site.
MultiChoice General Manager New Media, Richard Fyffe, said DStv Broadband is another platform for the company to deliver content. "The trials signify our commitment to providing a service that will complement our customers' lifestyles."
