Johannesburg – South Africa's third mobile operator, Cell C said on Thursday that it would launch its new HSPA+ 900 network in Johannesburg and Pretoria by mid November.
The service has already rolled out in Cape Town, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and East London.
The first phase of the new network rollout, set for completion by the end of 2010, will cover about 34% of the South African population, with the network being launched on a city-by-city basis.
Cell C said it would continue to expand its network roll out and aimed to cover 67% of the population by mid 2011.
