Johannesburg - Caxton has acquired a 30% interest in Ramsay Son and Parker, publishers of special interest media, the two companies said in a joint statement on Friday.

"Control and management of the company will continue to rest with the present team," said Alan Ramsay, chairperson of Ramsay Son and Parker.

"However, this new association will provide considerable operating benefits and broad growth opportunities for mutual gain."

Ramsay said the economy was expanding rapidly.

"While the competition among media owners for the 'share of eye and ear' is growing just as quickly, we believe there are still many opportunities to be addressed through joint initiatives by the dynamic group of people that make up our staff and stakeholders."

Caxton and CTP Printers Ltd's managing director Gordon Utian commented: "Opportunities abound and we are excited to be able to participate with our new colleagues in formulating and addressing new challenges to the benefit of both organisations."
