Cape Town - The inaugural 2014 AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction raised R7.045m for education in the Cape Winelands.
The proceeds will be divided between three different charities: The Pebbles Project, MAD Charity, and The Click Foundation.
The auction, held in support of educational needs and community upliftment, is aimed at supporting all aspects of education from infant development, technological innovation, through to the provision of a leadership academy and tertiary educational endowments in the Western Cape.
The two day wine auction was held at the Delaire Graff Estate in Stellenbosch.
“Establishing a solid foundation for learners is imperative to the success of our economy. We hope that through the generous donations made at the auction, the youth of the Cape Winelands will be able to benefit from the funds raids, enabling them with the skills needed in order to succeed,” said James Benoit, CEO AfrAsia, a Mauritian based boutique investment bank.
