Johannesburg - Illovo Sugar [JSE:ILV] on Thursday announced the resignation of its chairperson, Robert Williams, and financial director, Karin Zarnack.

Williams was set to retire at the company's next Annual General Meeting in July, having attained the age of 70, while current deputy chairperson, Don MacLeod, was set to be appointed chairperson of Illovo from that date.

MacLeod retired as chief executive of the Illovo group in April 2009.

Illovo also announced that current FD, Karin Zarnack had tendered her resignation from the board of Illovo with effect from the end of May. Zarnack joined the group as financial director on October 1 2005.
