Johannesburg - Poultry producer Country Bird Holdings [JSE:CBH] on Tuesday posted a 178% rise in diluted headline earnings per share to 64.57 cents for the year ended June, from 23.25 cents in the previous comparable period.

Operating profit for the year jumped by 81% to R220.8m, supported by good performances in the poultry and feed sectors both locally and abroad.

Country Bird currently operates in SA, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia.

The group declared a final capital distribution of 10.84 cents per share.
