Johannesburg - Branded consumer goods group Clover Industries Limited [JSE:CLR] says Danone Southern Africa will from next month exclusively outsource all its merchandising services to Clover.
In terms of the arrangement, all 134 current Danone merchandisers will be transferred to Clover under the same employment terms and conditions, and Clover will complete all merchandising tasks on behalf of Danone.
Clover says it has been selected by Danone after an "in-depth analysis" of available suppliers of merchandising services and an initial two-year contract has been awarded.
Danone CEO Mario Reis said: "The arrangement with Clover will materially strengthen our national field sales operation and broaden our footprint, allowing us to grow stronger. New job opportunities in field sales have also been created and these will be introduced from June 1 this year."
Clover is currently rolling out its Project Cielo Blu - aimed at increasing efficiencies and capacity in the production and distribution network - to support future growth.
Clover CEO Johann Vorster said: "We have always had a close working relationship with Danone. This step takes our collaboration to a new level, ensuring opportunities for both companies."
