Johannesburg - Finance Minister Trevor Manuel and ABSA chief executive officer Steve Booysen will brief the media on Friday about commission relating to a R500m sponsorship deal with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Absa spokesperson Errol Smith said the matter was discussed at an Absa board meeting on Thursday and at a subsequent meeting with Manuel and Absa officials.
The PSL came under fire this week over claims that it intended paying internal negotiators 10% commission on a R1.6bn television rights deal and a R500m sponsorship deal.
Manuel has criticised this as "morally reprehensible and corrupt".
The PSL has said that Absa has not paid any money into the personal accounts of officials.
