Articles should be relatively short (1,200 words plus any necessary graphs or tables) and need to be reasonably accessible to the lay reader.
We request that authors pitch their articles to the level of a reader of The Economist. This means that it is important to keep equations and technical jargon to a minimum if you are submitting technical papers.
We are looking for papers that either cover original areas of research on the issues of investment as they pertain to the special topic of each volume.
Specifically we are looking for research that addresses the South African market, or helps our readers get a better grasp on some of the more complex debates surrounding different philosophies or strategies that asset managers apply to the art (science?) of investing.
We expressly discourage articles that merely express an author’s opinion, that are veiled marketing documents, or that are papers that express a view on current markets. Content should not be time-dependent if these publications are going to provide a useful training resource.
