Johannesburg - The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) received funds from the national Treasury to continue its operations, a spokesperson said.
"The CCMA experienced a caseload increase during the current financial year due to the effect of the global economic climate, leading to a need for extra resources to deal with large scale retrenchment facilitations and other processes," Lusanda Myoli said.
"We can confirm that the CCMA received the funds from Treasury."
The Business Report on Wednesday said the organisation faced a shortfall of R32m.
On Wednesday morning the organisation's bank balance stood at about R2.4m, but due this week were payments of about R34.4m, including R11.9m for full-time staff salaries and R4.3m for part-time commissioners' salaries.
Myoli said there was no threat of the CCMA's services being interrupted.
"It is business as usual," she said.
