Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has made an unusual appeal to the Constitutional Court in a bid to set aside the high court order halting e-tolling.
Johannesburg - The results of an internal investigation into fraud within the Gautrain rail project have been handed over to police, the Gauteng public transport department said on Thursday.
Spokesperson Lebelo Maloka said internal investigations had been concluded and handed over to police who were continuing investigations into the matter.
The department would continue working with the law enforcement agencies to ensure that the law took its course.
"The department will continue fighting corruption wherever and wherever it is found," Maloka said.
The Star newspaper on Thursday reported that R6.5m had disappeared from the department "under the guise of land expropriation payments for the Gautrain".
