Budget airline Mango has learnt that there may be a small number of fraudulent cash transactions done through its call centre.

The low-cost airline said in a statement on Friday that together with law enforcement authorities, it was investigating new incidences following fraudulent activities across all domestic airline bookings last year.

"We urge everyone who have made their bookings through the Mango call centre and paid via cash deposit to verify their bookings by calling the Mango Call Centre on 086 116 2646."

Payments made at Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper Money Market counters and those made with credit cards and Edgars or Jet account cards were unaffected, it said.
