Cape Town - There has been an unprecedented response by Fin24 users to Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan's call for South Africans to share their views on the National Budget to be delivered next Wednesday.
Many seized the chance to tell Gordhan what he should do with their hard-earned cash before he delivers his speech in parliament on February 24.
The finance ministry has pulled no punches over the deterioration in global economic conditions since the publishing of the mini budget policy statement in October.
“Sentiment towards emerging markets has grown negative and developing countries are grappling with various challenges. South Africa still faces the challenges of lower economic growth, widespread unemployment and inequality,” it said.
Fin24 has launched a special tool for users to post their views and suggestions to Gordhan online, although you are of course still welcome to send us your suggestions by email.
Gordhan would like your ideas on:
a) What are the three things that government does very well?
b) What are the three things that government should stop doing?
c) What are the three areas that government spending should be directed to?
d) How can SA achieve inclusive economic growth?
