Cape Town – Following what has become a tradition set by his predecessors Trevor Manuel and Pravin Gordhan, Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene called on the public to submit their tips on what they would like to see in the National Budget.
This is your chance to express your views on the budget and the economy and to tell Nene what he should do with your hard-earned cash before he delivers his speech in Parliament on February 25.
The budget tips campaign is an annual event and gives citizens a chance to actively participate in government programmes, especially in economy-related matters.
This year the Treasury is particularly interested in what people have to say about:
• Modernising our cities (transport and communication) to expand economic activity;
• Improving business competitiveness; and
• Improving SA’s ability to expand its skills base
So go on, send us your budget tips and we'll make sure Nene receives them.
