Will Buffett arrive one day?

The world’s most successful investor, Berkshire Hathaway chairperson Warren Buffett, is one of the few global business heavyweights yet to attend the WEF’s Davos meeting. At 84, betting on him making the trip are at very long odds. Which is unfortunate because the straight speaking, values-driven Oracle of Omaha would be a massive hit at an event where too many of the panelists are still trying to make their mark and can tend towards verbosity (to say nothing of the flotilla of politicians who speak a lot but say nothing).

But even though he won’t be in Davos, Buffett wouldn’t need to make many calls to get an inside report on proceedings. His buddy and one of Berkshire’s directors is Microsoft founder Bill Gates, an institution in Davos having attended the event for a decade and a half. But even he hasn’t yet been able to convince his online bridge partner to make January trip to the Swiss Alps. But with the world coming around to Buffett’s way of thinking, who knows, perhaps he’ll decide to come himself some time? He certainly wouldn’t be lonely.
