Starlink said it would cut off users of its satellite internet services in unlicensed countries like South Africa at the beginning of this month, but sources say that the services have not been halted yet.
Starlink sent a notice to its account holders on 15 April, explaining that using the kits in countries where the service provider did not have a licence to operate was illegal and that services would be terminated from 30 April.
Starlink does not have a licence to operate in South Africa, with historically disadvantaged ownership requirements thought to be the biggest stumbling block.
